All About Kids was founded by Cathy Grossfeld in 1988, later joined by her husband Michael who are both New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologists and have over 60 years of combined experience in providing and administering services for children with developmental delays.

For over 30 years, All About Kids has provided evaluations, individual and group therapy services, consultations, and service coordination for children. All About Kids' comprehensive offering of services and programs addresses all facets of a child's development and allows for better team coordinated and individualized treatment. We provide early intervention, preschool, school age, and autism services privately as well as through the New York State public funded EI, CPSE, and District CSE programs including the NYCDOE. We are proud of our history of 30 years of outstanding program and fiscal audit reviews.

Overview

The Evaluation Supervisor is responsible to ensure compliance with all functions of the evaluation department for Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The supervisor will assist new staff with learning the functions outlined below.

  1. Assign evaluating therapists to new cases once accepted from the NYEIS system and from the school districts (CPSE).
  2. Enter the child and therapist information into the EI and CPSE tracking sheets.
  3. Request and obtain medical exam record for each child evaluated.
  4. Perform K Check on each doctor to ensure they are compliant and not on a Medicaid Excluded list.
  5. Ensure therapist send in required reports on or before due dates.
  6. Ensure that scripts are obtained and completed for CPSE Speech, OT, PT and Psychological evaluations.
  7. Ensure Medicaid consent is signed for CPSE referrals
  8. Give completed EI or CPSE packets to QA staff for review.
  9. Maintain compliance with getting reports to parents and County 5 days prior to 45th day or date of IFSP.
  10. Maintain compliance with getting reports to CPSE and families prior to CPSE initial review meetings.
  11. Obtain Authorizations from the NYEIS system after EIOD’s review and accept completed evaluations.
  12. Obtain completed STAC-5 forms from districts to send to billing for payment of evaluations completed.
  13. Enter data into the CLAIMS system for billing.
  14. Mail packets to family and pediatrician.
  15. Maintain evaluation files and ensure all times on evaluation checklist are completed.
  16. Maintain calendar of all IFSP and CPSE meetings.
  17. Ensure coverage for IFSP and CPSE meetings from eligible list of authorized personnel.
  18. Review all EI/CPSE and CSE evaluations based on current standards.
  19. Complete intakes for EI evaluations and assisting appropriate staff.
  20. Attend IFSP and CPSE meetings via phone and in person.
  21. Work with Regional Supervisor to conduct annual training's for evaluation staff.
  22. Work with evaporators to resolve any concerns or issues related to completing evaluations to meet current standards and requirements.
  23. Data entry into the NYEIS system for all MDE and supplemental evaluations.
  24. Attend county training's and functions to assist with relationship building.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. It is a requirement of this position to lift document files and other objects up to 20 lbs. Travel to other AAK offices 2-3 times a year will be required for training purposes.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Masters Degree in Special Education birth-2.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. 2-3 years minimum experience in conducting and interpreting evaluations.
  2. 2-3 years experience interpreting and presenting on evaluations at IFSP, CPSE and CSE meetings.
