All About Kids is seeking a payroll manager to assist with processing the company’s payroll with ‘fee-for-service’ workers, hourly and exempt employees on a semi-monthly and monthly basis for 150-500 employees from 5 NY metropolitan area locations.

This position will require on-site attendance with the possibility for remote work and flexible scheduling after the initial training is completed.


  • Ensure that payroll is processed accurately to comply with divisional, corporate, and government policies and procedures.
  • Assist in completing the payroll portion of the new hires in payroll system.
  • Maintain calendar indicating scheduled pay dates, pay increase dates, and dates when employees are to be added or discontinued to benefit programs that require payroll deductions.
  • Check calculations provided for ‘fee-for-service’ employees from billing department to assure accuracy and proper payment.
  • Work with supervisors and managers of other departments to troubleshoot discrepancies in terms of authorized overtime, reasons for absences, either paid or unpaid to assure correct payment and records.
  • Manage and communicate required changes to employee information such as pay rates, salaries, change of address, withholding or regular deductions, and posts to the payroll system.
  • Answer employees’ questions professionally and expeditiously deferring to HR when appropriate.
  • Assist with Quarterly Time Study and Consolidated Financial Reports as it relates to time and attendance and other payroll data.
  • Collaborate on other projects as required with Finance and HR as instructed by the Finance and HR Directors and/or President.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing in a large organization (300+ associates) required.
  • Meticulous personality accustomed to self-auditing for pinpoint accuracy essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; experience with internal customer service is key to this role.
  • Computer: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Zoom.
  • Timely personality, detail and deadline oriented.
  • Must be a team player willing to roll up your sleeves when a fellow teammate needs your help.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of New York State, cities and federal tax regulations and wage and hour laws is a major plus!
